(SPOT.ph) College entrance exams are an annual anxiety festival for the nation's youth, but it looks like those aiming to get into the University of Santo Tomas will have to deal with a new method of admissions: the #USTAR2021. An announcement from the website of the university's admissions office made the rounds online on August 13.
It stated that the usual University of Santo Tomas Entrance Examinations (better known as USTET) will not be administered for the school year 2021 to 2022—instead, the University of Santo Tomas Admission Rating, dubbed USTAR, will be implemented.

Based on the screenshot of the initial announcement, hopeful Thomasians will be rated based largely on their academic performance and records.
The site has since been updated to show a shorter message—but this time touting the #USTAR2021 for the incoming school year. There are no updates yet on what criteria the USTAR will use or what score is needed to get into the university. Plus, there's also the possibility that other universities will follow their lead as the pandemic continues.
Meanwhile, students online are freaking out. While administering physical exams is a definite no given the current circumstances, the lack of information on the USTAR isn't giving much hope, either. Check out the strongest—and funniest—statements below:
