Ateneo Cancels ACET 2021 and the Twitterverse Has Lots of Feels
(SPOT.ph) Students of school year 2020 to 2021 are facing a different kind of challenge with classes now held online amid the pandemic. It's a whole another ball game for graduating seniors who will be spending the year applying to their dream schools. Ateneo de Manila University opens the college admissions process for freshman applicants today, September 1—but unlike previous years, there will be no Ateneo College Entrance Test for this batch.

"This year brings a number of big changes to the application process," the university said on their website. The entire application system, for one, will be online through apply.ateneo.edu/college. It went live at 4 p.m.
Instead of an entrance exam, prospective students will be screened based on their academic and non-academic performance from their 9th to 11th grade, class rankings, admission essay, and recommendations.
Deadline for freshman application is on December 1, while decisions will be released in February 2021.
The University of Santo Tomas earlier announced a similar scheme. Instead of the University of Santo Tomas Entrance Test, the university is implementing the University of Santo Tomas Admission Rating (a.k.a. USTAR).
This new development is bringing a lot of panic (or relief) to incoming college students on Twitter:

Someone's on the fence on what to feel about it.
