Google Pixel 5 Specs Include SD 765G, 4000mAh, and 90Hz AMOLED
By now, we already know that Google’s upcoming “flagship” phone isn’t going to be a real flagship. Thanks to the countless leaks before the arrival of the device, all that’s left for the company is to officially introduce its Pixel 5. And with the latest set of leaks, apparently, the Pixel 5 will be a premium 5G phone with a relatively aggressive price (sort of).
As reported on Twitter by Max Weinbach, the Pixel 5 will sport a Snapdragon 765G chipset instead of the faster Snapdragon 865 or 865+. It’s is in line with Google’s pricing, claimed to be a competitive factor in the US and other select markets. Also, there will be one model at launch — 8GB/128GB. By far, we know that the screen of the Pixel 5 is of AMOLED with 90Hz in tow. However, the panel size appears to be smaller than what other brands are churning out. At 6″ diagonal, the Pixel 5 is even smaller than the iPhone 11 and Galaxy S20, but slightly taller than the 5.81″ of Pixel 4a.
Battery life has been one of the challenging things about Pixel devices, not lasting a full day. With Pixel 5, it seems like Google is ready to join the 4000mAh trend as reports state that we might see either 4000mAh or 4080mAh. Regardless of which, we’re happy to see the company reaching the standard capacity. As for the cameras, the Pixel 5 will only sport two sensors — a pair of Sony 12MP for wide and ultrawide. However, the selfie camera is going to use an 8MP Sony IMX 355 only.
Though previous renders show the Pixel 5 in black, a new leak reveals that the device will also come in Green. This model might be called Sage Green, and it has the same rough, textured finish as the Pixel 4a. For the release date and price of Google Pixel 5, slated to be announced on September 30th, the premium mid-range phone will cost $699 or around ~Php33,800. If we’re talking about the Philippine market, the Pixel 5 is a hard sell. Perhaps, that’s why Google is hesitant to sell its phones here. But in other markets, some customers might see it enticing due to 5G availability, clean software, and great cameras.
