(SPOT.ph) Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte is every outdoor lover's haven. The coastal town boasts lesser-known white-sand beaches, amazing geological formations such as the Kapurpurawan Rocks, and Kaibigan Falls on the eastern side of the municipality. It also offers amazing waves for surfers to practice their tricks or just ride for some stoke.
The whole province officially reopened to travelers from Luzon—Metro Manila residents included—on October 15, jumpstarting the town's tourism economy. Tourists coming from places under general community quarantine like the National Capital Region or modified general community quarantine are required to undergo an RT-PCR test within 72 hours prior to arrival, then an antigen test on the first, fourth, ninth, and 14th day that he/she is in Ilocos Norte. There's also the option of having an antigen test 30 hours before entry, as long as you submit to an RT-PCR test on your first day and an antigen test on the fourth, ninth, and 14th day. These are all paid for by the tourist.
You're also required to register online via SafePass. Tourists need to submit the following documents through the platform: confirmed accommodation booking, certification from your travel agent or tour operator, confirmed itinerary, medical certificate, and negative COVID-19 test result. The health declaration through SafePass must be secured not earlier than 48 hours before arrival, then the QR code should be saved or printed for scanning at the border checkpoints.
Tourists on staycation must stay within the premises of the hotel or resort at all times. And if you're scheduled for tours, side-trips are not allowed and you can only use the transportation provided by your accommodation or tour operator.
